Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make an Enquiry?

If you would like to find out more about the services and care offered you may start the process by completing the contact form.

Dr Pillay will contact you to discuss your enquiry. This information will be used in accordance with the Hampshire Psychiatry Privacy Policy and will not be stored beyond the query period. A copy of your enquiry will be added to your Carepatron medical record if you proceed to book an appointment.

Where are my health records held?
Hampshire Psychiatry is predominantly a paperless practice. Your health records, personal details, payment details, invoices, and other information you provide are held using a practice management software portal called Carepatron

Are Fees refundable?
Fees are not refundable once an appointment has been confirmed. Your appointment may however be rescheduled if there has been unexpected circumstances. An additional administrative fee is payable on rescheduling of the appointment.

What happens after I make my booking?
You will receive confirmation of your appointment date and time on booking. You will also  receive an invitation to register on the Carepatron client portal.

It is important that you register and complete the forms in the client portal in advance of the appointment . These forms will include requests for your consent, general details about who you are, your current GP and more specific questions about your current concerns and hopes for the appointment.

If there are specific conditions that you would like to focus on or screen for, you may send a message via the client portal messaging system in advance of your appointment .

Who will I be seeing at my appointment?
You will be seeing Dr Priyanka Pillay. If an in person appointment is arranged then you will be greeted by the office reception staff, who will advise Dr Pillay of your arrival. She will then meet you in reception and escort you to the private office space to continue your appointment.

Will there be a report at the end of the diagnostic assessment?
The outcome of your diagnostic assessment will include a discussion of diagnoses, formulation and a collaborative care plan detailing the assessment and the care recommendations agreed. This care plan detailing key aspects of the assessment will be available on the Carepatron client portal for you to access.  If a specific report is required please contact Dr Pillay to discuss as these are provided as a separate service and incur a separate fee.

Are you able to provide a prescription?
Prescriptions are available on completion of an initial assessment, if it is agreed that this is the best way for you to access medication for your condition. 

Is this a confidential service?
Yes your privacy is of utmost importance, and there are safeguards in place to ensure it. These safeguards include GDPR and HIPAA compliant medical record keeping as well as discussion around what is felt to be most appropriate to record in your medical records. Your consent to store information will be formally sought on completion of the initial booking. 

You will be able to choose who you share information contained within the client portal with. We will not contact your emergency contact or GP without your consent and a discussion around this unless it is an emergency situation where your next of kin need to be informed.
